This Privacy and Cookie Policy applies to the CEEDUCON website operated by the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research and supplements the general privacy information published by the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research.

2. Legal Framework

Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, in particular:

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 – General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR),
  • Act No. 110/2019 Coll., on the Processing of Personal Data,
  • Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on Electronic Communications, including the rules governing the storage of and access to information on users’ devices.

3. Data Processed When Visiting the Website

When you visit the website, certain technical information may be processed automatically in order to ensure the operation, security and administration of the website.

This may include:

  • IP address,
  • date and time of access,
  • requested URL,
  • information about the web browser and device,
  • technical information relating to communication with the server,
  • information required for website security and diagnostics.

This information is processed only to the extent necessary to ensure the availability, proper functioning and security of the website.

Technical and operational records are retained only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose and subsequently handled in accordance with the applicable internal document retention and disposal rules.

The website uses Complianz to manage cookie consent.

6. Google Analytics

Subject to the visitor’s consent, the website may use Google Analytics 4 to obtain statistical information about website traffic and usage.

Google Analytics may process information such as:

  • pages visited,
  • time and duration of the visit,
  • interaction with the website,
  • device and browser information,
  • approximate geographical location,
  • technical and online identifiers.

The following analytics cookies have been identified on the website:

The actual storage period may be shorter depending on the configuration of Google Analytics or the settings of the visitor’s browser.

Google Analytics is used only after the visitor has provided the relevant consent.

Where personal data processing is based on consent, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

7. Google Tag Manager

The website uses Google Tag Manager to manage technical, analytics and other website tags.

Google Tag Manager may be used, for example, to control the activation of Google Analytics.

Technologies that require the visitor’s consent must not be activated through Google Tag Manager before such consent has been provided.

8. YouTube

The website may contain embedded videos provided through YouTube, a service operated by Google.

Embedded videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode through the youtube-nocookie.com domain.

However, this mode does not completely prevent communication between the visitor’s device and Google servers when embedded content is loaded or used.

In particular, the following information may be processed:

  • IP address,
  • device and browser information,
  • technical identifiers,
  • information about loading or playing the video,
  • information about interactions with the embedded content.

Where the use of embedded content requires consent, such content is activated only after the visitor has given consent.

9. Consent to Optional Technologies

When first visiting the website, visitors can use the cookie banner to decide which optional technologies they wish to allow.

Visitors may:

  • accept optional cookies,
  • reject optional cookies,
  • configure individual categories separately.

If consent is not provided, technologies requiring consent remain disabled.

Access to the basic functions of the website is not conditional on consent to analytics or other optional cookies.

Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time using the “Manage consent” / “Cookie settings” control available on the website.

Withdrawing consent must be as easy as giving consent.

The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the consent was withdrawn.

10. Recipients and Service Providers

Personal data may be accessed, where necessary, by persons responsible for the operation, administration and security of the website and by providers of services used on the website.

In connection with the technologies described above, data may in particular be processed through:

  • Google Analytics,
  • Google Tag Manager,
  • YouTube,
  • the provider of the website’s hosting and technical infrastructure.

Personal data may also be disclosed to public authorities where required by applicable law.

11. Transfers Outside the European Economic Area

When using services provided by Google, certain data may be processed or transferred outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States.

Any such transfer must comply with the requirements of Chapter V of the GDPR.

Google LLC states that it participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Where applicable, other safeguards permitted by the GDPR may also be used, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

12. Registration for and Participation in CEEDUCON

This Privacy and Cookie Policy primarily covers the use of the CEEDUCON website.

When registering for or participating in CEEDUCON, additional personal data may be processed, for example:

  • first and last name,
  • contact details,
  • organisation or institution,
  • other information necessary for organising the event.

The processing of personal data related to registration and participation in the event is governed by the relevant privacy information of the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research concerning events, conferences and related activities.

The relevant privacy information must also be made available to participants at the time of registration.

The retention period for personal data related to event participation is determined in accordance with the applicable privacy information and the organisation’s document retention and disposal rules.

13. Photographs and Audio-Visual Recordings

Photographs, video recordings or audio recordings may be taken during CEEDUCON.

Detailed information concerning the purposes of processing, legal basis, publication and retention of such recordings is provided in the separate privacy information applicable to participants in events organised by the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research.

Participants must be appropriately informed in advance where such recordings are made.

14. Retention of Personal Data

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is processed and in accordance with the applicable document retention and disposal rules.

The storage periods for individual cookies are stated above.

The retention of personal data relating to registration, participation in the conference or the creation of photographs and audio-visual recordings is governed by the relevant privacy information applicable to the particular processing activity.

15. Your Rights

Subject to the conditions laid down in the GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • obtain information about the processing of your personal data,
  • request access to your personal data,
  • request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data,
  • request erasure of personal data where the legal conditions are met,
  • request restriction of processing,
  • object to processing where applicable,
  • exercise the right to data portability where the legal conditions are met,
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent,
  • not be subject, under the conditions laid down in the GDPR, to a decision based solely on automated processing,
  • lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

16. Right to Lodge a Complaint
